Spider Shaman

Painted using a combination of photoshop and painter...usually I rely heavily on painter to get the job done, but I'm incorporating more and more photoshop work now-a-days. I'm not sure that the character is based on anything in particular (anything I can remember anway) but the background is heavily Frazetta inspired.

it's got the sketch, and two early versions of this painting.

Nothing I ever do is really finished, so any and all crits are very welcome. This is one of a very few "character with real background" paintings I've done (two, maybe?) and I don't know that this one was all that successfull...I can't seem to lose that floaty-feeling. Thanks for looking.

Clock Man

This was an old senior thesis idea that didn't go anywhere. Something about a guy who kept turning forward his clock to get through all the boring stuff and ended up old and regretful...or something. Anyway, used painter for the character (1 layer, 1 brush, 10 hours) and the background was done (...rushed) in photoshop. I admit I began to lose interest by the time I got to the background and I think it shows. I'll probably revisit this piece at a later date.

Concept cover for a (proposed) children's book about pirates. It's about as done as i've been able to get it so far, but comments and crits are of course welcome.

Kind of a silly study of the effects of aging...on my previous caricature. Painter used, but mostly photoshop to "degrade" the colors and image.
